Orchestra 2001 hosts the classic 1968 Stanley Kubrick film that is our namesake. Free popcorn!

Preceded by a brief conversation about the film's music, and a short performance by percussionist Phillip O'Banion of Stop Speaking (2011) for snare drum and laptop computer, by the brilliant American composer, Andy Akiho. Akiho's piece portrays an interaction of Human vs. Macintosh laptop with Microsoft Office  .... a later, tamer cousin of "HAL" from 2001: A Space Odyssey:  "Open the pod bay doors, HAL."
